When we - Two Herbal Mamas (Margaret Norcott & Shelagh Mitchell) - met, we discovered a shared passion for herbs. As devoted mothers, we were searching for natural ways to nourish and heal ailing family members. At the time we were both making our own herbal remedies and were thrilled to compare notes and ideas. Thus began our partnership.
Great pride and love go into the preparation of these herbal products; from handpicking the healing blossoms and leaves to producing creams, salves, and lotions. Delight in the fact that you are now using handmade products containing home grown or wild crafted herbs created by Two Herbal Mamas.
We 'Mamas' love nothing more than to be out picking fresh herbs for our preparations. Our herbs are handpicked from our gardens or wild crafted in pristine locations throughout the Beaver Valley with ecological respect.
Our fresh leaves and blossoms are harvested at their peak, before the sun has captured their volatile oils. The harvest is quickly placed in glass jars and infused with extra virgin, first cold pressed olive oil and sealed with a kiss. The infusions are set outside for a short period while solar heat triggers the process of extracting the medicinal magic of the plants. Stored inside in a cool dark place, the extraction continues for another six weeks. During the following full moon the oils are strained several times and stored.
The blending process combines these precious oils with local unadulterated beeswax and wild crafted therapeutic-grade essential oils. All our products are preserved with therapeutic benzoin resin. The hands-on touch from harvest, extraction, straining and blending ensure products of the finest quality that nurture the body and soul graced with motherly love.
